Taking the Field: Our Participants Hit the Footy Oval
There’s something special about a game of footy that brings people together — the anticipation before the bounce, the camaraderie on the oval, and the pride of pulling on the guernsey. This week, our participants did exactly that, and the smiles said it all.
The day kicked off with a team meeting — a chance to come together, go over the game plan, and simply enjoy each other’s company before heading out onto the ground.

Once out on the oval, it was game on. Our participants gave everything they had — chasing the ball, working as a team, and playing with genuine heart. Moments like these are exactly what our programs are designed to create: opportunities for our participants to build confidence, connect with peers, and experience the joy of sport.
AFL is more than just a game in Western Australia — it’s part of our culture, our identity. Giving our participants a seat at that table, and a spot on that oval, matters deeply to us at Hale Foundation.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this day happen — the support workers, volunteers, and of course our incredible participants who never stop inspiring us. We can’t wait for the next one.
