Hale Foundation: Registered NDIS Provider Perth

Hale Foundation is a registered NDIS provider in Perth. This means we deliver disability support services that are funded through the NDIS. Registered providers are checked and regulated by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, while unregistered providers are not held to the same requirements and might not offer the same type of supports.

What types of supports are funded under NDIS?

NDIS funding can cover supports that relate to your disability and help with independence, inclusion, and everyday life, as long as they meet the NDIS funding rules. This can include help at home, support to build everyday skills, assistance to get involved with your community, support with housing and living arrangements, and help to understand and manage your plan. The exact supports funded will depend on your goals, needs, and what’s included in your NDIS plan.

What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme is called the NDIS. The NDIS is a new way to help people under 65 with disability get care and supports

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australia wide system of providing individualised planning, funding and support to people living with disability, their families and carers. It’s a lifetime approach to the delivery of support services, that will change over time with your individual circumstances.

On 12 December 2017, the Commonwealth and Western Australian Governments agreed that WA will join the nationally delivered National Disability Insurance Scheme. This announcement replaces the previous agreement for Western Australia to run its own WA NDIS.The NDIS is managed by the NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency).

There is now more freedom and choice in selecting who you feel is best placed to support you in living the life you choose. The NDIS will take some time to roll out across the state. It’s important that you know when the NDIS will roll out in your area so that you are prepared and ready to develop your plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

The NDIS doesn’t fund everyday living costs that aren’t directly related to your disability support needs. This can include things like groceries, rent, utilities, or other regular expenses that everyone has, whether they have disability support needs or not.

To be eligible for the NDIS, you need to be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or protected special category visa holder, and you must be under 65 when you apply. You also need to have a permanent and significant disability that affects how you take part in everyday life. Eligibility is ultimately decided by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

The NDIS funds support and services that are related to your disability and help you work towards your goals. This may include support at home or in the community, housing or accommodation, support coordination, plan management, and help with daily living.

There’s no set review schedule for all participants. Every NDIS plan has a reassessment date, and the timing can vary depending on your circumstances. Funding in your plan may also be released in periods, usually every three months for newer or reassessed plans, rather than all at once. If your needs change, you can also ask for your plan to be reassessed.
